There's nothing worse than being stuck with a photographer you absolutely cannot stand, right? On this page, you'll find out more about who I am.
An elopement is an intimate experience, so it's important that you book somebody that is your kind of person.
that's me!
that's Kiwi!
Adventure, lights me up.
When everybody goes left - go right!
When people say “Girl, you can’t live in Africa” - I go.
I care about adventure, I care about nature.
And, I care about you.
Truly experiencing a place together, matters to me.
Wherever in the world that may be.
When you look at your photographs, I want you to remember the feelings, the sun on your faces, the wind, even the rain.
The laughs and the tears.
All of it.

Adventure is what I do, it’s who I am. The outdoors is and always will be my first love. Fresh air, freedom, dreams without limits. They all come together in my passion for photographing elopements, intimate destination weddings. Mountain peaks, rough coastlines or African savannah plains where the big herds roam – I will never be able to decide between either of them.
It was a bit of a happy accident. Africa is my home continent, but I work all across the world.
Yes!
I will meet you and your love in places that will be ingrained into your soul and memory forever.
As you might have gathered by now - I’m a photographer of people in love. Especially those people who don’t follow the herd, but find their own way. I am based in the South African bushveld since 2013, after my editor-in-chief sent me to Africa to create a documentary about horseback safaris.
Well, that became a very long story because his reporter is still in Africa… Whoops. I did return to my Dutch desk, but handed in my resignation a few months later and hurried back into the dust as fast as I possibly could.
No posing, life is not a catwalk show nor a dress rehearsal. It’s raw, it’s intimate, it’s wild, it’s intense, it’s here. Years of making documentaries for magazines as a journalist and photographer has taught me how to capture the essence of an experience. The core of someone’s story, deep feelings, a place - or, ideally… everything all at once.

I only take on a small amount of elopements per year, because I want to give every single couple, every adventure, a piece of who I am.
So wherever you want to go, we’ll discover and explore with boundless enthusiasm. Whether it’s a new destination you always wanted to go to, or your favourite place on earth that has special meaning to you. Think of me as your own personal chameleon - changing my colours to adapt to your vision, but always staying true to who I am and to what I do.
That is what a real documentary will give you.
It makes you feel and relive it all.
I have been a published documentary maker since 2010.
It’s what I do. It’s what I love. It’s what I care about.
